Information for people with mobility impairments

Entrance Accessibility

The regular entrance is located opposite the “Dumitru Stăniloae” Library, which leads to the Synaxar room, situated below the level of the entrance and the Commercial Gallery (there are a total of 6 steps to access it). To reach the upper level where the following three museum rooms (Offering, Founders, and Ekklesia) are located, the visitor must climb XX steps.

The accessible entrance for visitors with mobility impairments and those with special health needs is located at the same place as the main museum entrance. After visiting the Synaxar room, the visitor must proceed to the Metropolitan Cathedral esplanade in the area near the candle holder to the right of the Cathedral’s exit stairs, where they will be assisted by specialized personnel to the ramp leading to the next three rooms.

Visitors who need to enter with motorized wheelchairs, electric scooters, or other large devices are invited to contact the reception staff one day before the visit to ensure a smooth experience.

Wheelchairs with a total weight (including the person) greater than 230 kg or a length greater than 120 cm are not allowed.

 Accessible Toilet

The accessible toilet for persons with disabilities is located in the courtyard of the Metropolitan Ensemble of Iași and is signposted according to the current legislation. It is situated near the museum entrance and is marked by a special directional sign in Braille. However, if you are unable to find the toilet, please ask the reception staff for the most precise directions to the nearest toilet.

In addition to the toilet reserved for persons with disabilities in the inner courtyard of the Metropolitan Ensemble of Iași, there are also toilets for all visitors, located nearby, recommended especially for visitors about to begin their visit.
