The last visitor is allowed to enter by 4:30 PM.
On public holidays marked with a red cross on the calendar, the museum is opened between 12:00 PM and 6:00 PM. In these cases, the last visitor is allowed to enter by 5:30 PM.
In exceptional circumstances, the museum can only be visited by appointment made at least 5 days in advance, at the phone number 0754204059.
Food and beverages are strictly prohibited in the exhibition halls!
THE MUSEUM IS CLOSED:
- Sundays and Mondays, throughout the year;
- On the days of celebration for the imperial feasts, when these are celebrated on weekdays;
- From the Nativity of Christ (December 25) to the Feast of the Holy Prophet John the Baptist (January 7);
- From Good Friday to the Feast of the Theotokos the "Life-giving Spring" (during the Resurrection of Christ – Easter);
- May 1 (Labour Day);
- August 15 (Assumption of the Virgin Mary);
- November 30 (St. Andrew, Patron of Romania);
- December 1 (Romania's National Day).
Entry to the Metropolitan Museum of Iași may involve a waiting period, especially during peak season. To reduce wait times, you can reserve your entry in advance by calling and providing the day, desired time frame, and the number of people in your group.
Especially for school groups accompanied by teachers, it is mandatory and free to book a visiting time if a specialized guide is desired from the museum staff.
According to the regulation, teaching staff accompanying organized groups are entitled to free entry. Also, tour guides from the city are granted free access when accompanying organized groups, provided they present an ID at reception.
