The Metropolitan Museum of Iași is open to visitors from all age groups. Families with children, groups, school groups, and individuals with physical or intellectual disabilities are all welcome. To ensure your visit is as pleasant as possible, here are some simple rules that all visitors must read and follow:
- If you plan to visit as an organized group, especially during busy periods, and wish to benefit from a specialized guide, it is recommended to make a prior reservation. If you have made a prior reservation, please arrive 5 minutes before the scheduled time to purchase your tickets.
- The ticket allows for a single entry and cannot be reused. Throughout your tour of the museum, staff are authorized to ask for your ticket, so please keep it with you during your entire visit.
- Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult!
- For visits outside normal hours, please contact the staff at least 5 days in advance to check availability.
- Before entering the exhibition areas, backpacks, bags, umbrellas, and other bulky items must be left in the cloakroom. These are stored free of charge and are under constant video surveillance.
- Exhibition areas are monitored by video 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so please behave appropriately!
Smoking is strictly prohibited (including e-cigarettes and heated tobacco)!
The following is also prohibited:
- Touching the exhibited works;
- Using flash photography;
- Consuming food, coffee, alcoholic drinks, sodas, or chewing gum in the exhibition spaces;
- Entering the exhibition areas in an intoxicated state or under the influence of narcotics;
- Entering exhibition areas with large luggage, umbrellas, or sports items (such as balls, skateboards, scooters, bicycles, etc.);
- Bringing firearms, knives, ammunition, chemicals, or toxic substances into exhibition areas;
- Damaging or altering any structures, infrastructure, or services (including scratching walls or columns with names);
- Blocking access and evacuation paths, or any emergency exit routes;
- Engaging in behaviors that may create dangerous situations, endanger anyone’s safety, or disturb public order, disrupting the event’s peaceful course;
- Leaving household waste or other trash in the exhibition areas.
All visitors are asked to behave according to common courtesy. Generally, behaviors that may endanger the safety of exhibits, staff, or other visitors are not allowed. Visitors must comply with the general instructions given on the museum signs and those provided by the staff.
Wheelchair Access for Children
Access with strollers is allowed, if the companion ensures they are not left unsupervised.
Baggage Access
Large luggage, including backpacks for children, is not allowed. Using baby carriers is permitted, especially if small and worn in the front.
Food and beverages cannot be consumed inside the museum, except for baby food, baby bottles, powdered milk, and fruit juice in cartons of less than 250 ml, specifically for children. Children may drink from bottles, cups, or small sealed bottles.
