📍 Metropolitan Museum of Iași
📅 Open from January 1 to December 30, 2025
The Metropolitan Museum of Iași invites you to step into a world of courage, faith, and sacrifice through the exhibition “Confessors in the Communist Prisons.”
This exhibition evokes the drama and strength of character of those who, under the harsh conditions of a totalitarian regime, had the courage to confess their faith in God—often paying the price through long years of imprisonment, suffering, and humiliation.
It brings before visitors the faces and stories of priests who transformed suffering into prayer and persecution into testimony. Through archival photographs, books, and meaningful personal items, you will discover a painful, yet essential part of Romania’s recent history.
“Confessors in the Communist Prisons” is both a call to remembrance and a gesture of gratitude for those who, in the darkest of times, became bearers of light.
We warmly invite you to visit the exhibition and be inspired by the strength of faith and the dignity of these witnesses of the Romanian spirit.
